Rock ‘n Wine: Picasso Wine and Music Experience

by | Jul 20, 2015

Rock and wine is one of those combinations that sounds strange at first, but begins to make sense shortly after. Think milkshakes and French fries, or crackers and milk (seriously, it’s good). For everything that wine pairs well with, the first to come to mind may not be rock music. But, lo and behold, it is a marriage that works.

Now you could pour yourself a glass of wine, dust off the old record player and dig out Houses of the Holy, which would be a great time honestly, but there are also some events out there that will do it for you. Rock ‘n Roll Wine hosts various events around Washington bringing these two great things together. As they say on their website, they are “part wine tasting, part rock concert, and all around remarkable wine and music experiences.”

Next Saturday, July 25, the Gorge Amphitheatre will be hosting the Picasso Wine and Music Experience. As said, it will be a chance to “Rock Out With Your Cork Out” as you enjoy Train and sip wine. In addition to a concert ticket, you will need to purchase a wine tasting ticket that will be $30 in advance, and $40 at the door. But that money will go along way and for a good cause.

Proceeds from tickets will benefit the Washington State Council of Firefighters. With a ticket, you will be able to sample over 40 wines from 20 different wineries. You will even be able to try Train’s own exclusive “Save Me, San Francisco” wines.

It’s been hot out there and we have already had a number of wildfires throughout our state. This will be a chance to see live music, drink great wine, and give back to the work that our State’s firefighters have done and will continue to do to ensure our safety. So, as is suggested, Rock Out With Your Cork Out!
