5 Canned Wines for Packing In and Out

See that big glowing ball in the sky? OK, don’t look too closely but that’s the sun, and she’s here to make your life better, starting now — and wine only helps that cause. Take advantage of these rare sunny days with the great outdoors, and wines built to make that enjoyment even easier. Forget the cork and the glass, then check out these canned wine producers you’ll want to pack for your springtime hike.

Underwood
Underwood, from the team at Union Wine Co., carries an extensive assortment of canned varieties. Among these Oregon-made wines are a Bubbly, Rosé, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. The latest seasonal is their Riesling Radler, featuring the star wine grape with hops and grapefruit. Wrapped in a label fit with toucans and lush tropical greenery, this can hits all those vacation feels.

Joe to Go
Dobbes Family Wine — also makers of Wine by Joe — now has Joe to Go, two canned renditions for the mature Oregon winery. Pick between a Rosé or a Pinot Gris for your travel sipper of choice. Both cans of “really good wine” offer fresh, zippy acidity and a punch of flavor from Oregon fruit.

Built by the minds behind Stumptown Coffee, Penner-Ash Cellars and a handful of Portland-based designers is Free Public wines. The team’s red blend is a combo of two grapes from the two states, Oregon Pinot Noir and Washington Syrah. The refreshing rosé is a blend of Washington fruit, ready for summer crushing, springtime picnics or anytime you’d rather just have a can in your hand.
