Since Returning to Family Ownership, Hinman Vineyards Marks First Labels Since Early 90s

Pioneering Willamette Valley family pairs historic bottle releases with ongoing community commitment, surpassing nearly $7,000 in local support since returning to the estate

Eugene, Ore. (Oct. 6, 2026) – Marking a major milestone in their celebrated homecoming, the Hinman family has announced the release of its first new bottlings under the Hinman Vineyards label, alongside Tior, a modern, limited-production brand in the winery’s portfolio. The release represents a long-awaited milestone: the first wines bottled under the Hinman Vineyards name since the early 1990s, when the property transitioned to Silvan Ridge.

“Releasing these wines under the Hinman name again is an unforgettable milestone for our entire family,” said founder and owner Doyle Hinman. “This valley has always been home to us, and sharing these new labels with the community that has supported us for more than fifty years is a true privilege.”

Deep Local Roots and Community Commitment

For the Hinman family, returning to their original property is as much about civic stewardship as it is about wine. Since they reacquired the property in April 2026, the family has contributed nearly $7,000 in combined cash and in-kind donations to 11 local non-profit and civic organizations across the South Willamette Valley.

“This property has always felt deeply connected to the community,” said Sue Ann Hinman, owner. “As we open this next chapter, we want to share our gratitude well beyond the tasting room. Supporting the organizations that care for this valley is the most meaningful part of coming home.”

New Releases

The newly released wines feature selections from Hinman Vineyards alongside small-lot bottlings from Tior:

  • Hinman 2024 Elizabeth’s Red (Summit View Vineyard, Walla Walla AVA): A tribute blend of 83 percent Merlot and 17 percent Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 20 percent new French oak. Features aromas of cocoa and vanilla, leading into a palate of plum, raspberry, black currant and velvety tannins.
  • Hinman 2024 Cabernet Sauvignon (Summit View Vineyard, Walla Walla AVA): Sourced from 1,200-foot glacial silt loam soils and aged in 20 percent new French oak. Shows classic notes of black cherry and cedar with a structured palate of blackberry, currant and firm tannins.
  • Hinman 2024 Tempranillo (Summit View Vineyard, Walla Walla AVA): Bold and expressive, opening with black licorice and leather, supported by layers of dark plum, cocoa and warm clove.
  • Hinman 2024 Syrah (Les Collines Vineyard, Walla Walla AVA): Grown in glacial loess soils along the base of the Blue Mountains. Offers aromas of black cherry and dark plum, followed by blueberry, vanilla, nutmeg and plush tannins.
  • Tior 2024 Reverie (Summit View & Les Collines Vineyards, Walla Walla AVA): A complex blend of 67 percent Tempranillo, 17 percent Syrah and 16 percent Merlot showcasing earth, leather and spice aromatics complemented by cherry, plum and dried fig.
  • Tior 2025 Pinot Gris (Ankeny Vineyard, Willamette Valley): Stainless steel-fermented from vines planted in 1980. Vibrant and crisp with pear and key lime pie aromas, finishing with notes of honeysuckle, citrus and apricot.

Several new releases are available at the Hinman Vineyards tasting room in Eugene, Ore., as well as online at hinmanvineyards.com, with more to follow later this year. Additionally, both Hinman Vineyards and Tior wines are available at select fine wine retailers, restaurants and bottle shops throughout the region and in key markets nationwide.
