Celebrate Woodinville Summer Festivals

by | Jun 25, 2013

A toast to Woodinville

Finding a place to celebrate Washington’s lush city of Woodinville this summer will not be a hard feet to come by for the whole family this season. It’s that time once again to make your way over to Wilmot Gateway Park to raise a glass and toast Woodinville in a variety of city-wide celebrations.

Celebrate Woodinville blends support for local businesses, live music, and the growth of the wine and beer industry into classic summer evenings spent lounging in the city’s scenic Wilmot Gateway Park by the free-flowing Sammamish River. The party begins with an afternoon of live music before the sky erupts in fireworks on the Fourth of July. After this day, Summer Concerts in the Park will then run every Wednesday evening until the city’s 35th annual community parade and the city’s 20th anniversary on Aug. 10.

The Summer Concerts in the Park also will bring the wine and beer garden to offer guests up to six different options of Washington wines to savor each night, from reds to whites and rosès. To reduce the waste of glasses, guests have been instructed these tastings are on a “Bring Your Own Glass” basis.

More than 35 wineries including Patterson Cellars, Auclair Winery, DiStefano Winery and Lauren Ashton Cellars will be featured on these nights.

Also joining in the celebrations in the park is a few of the city’s best restaurants, from bakery sweets to food truck savories. Whether it’s dining on a gourmet sausage from Dogfather Catering or a food truck spin on a city staple from the Barking Frog’s Chef Bobby Moore, if the wine doesn’t prove Woodinville’s good fortune, then the local fare sure will.

The summer festivities will then culminate into a day celebrating the city’s 20th birthday. The morning will commence on Aug. 10 with the annual community parade, pancake breakfast and Bassett Bash. After that, if the city’s gigantic birthday cake doesn’t keep the party going the Woodinville Festival will bring in more wineries, restaurants, arts and activities to make the day one to remember.
