Fill Your Glass With Cheer: Northwest Cider Club Offers Handpicked Ciders for the Season

by | Nov 3, 2021

The Pacific Northwest saw unseasonably warm weather as summer transitioned to fall. But now, with the cooler weather finally setting in, it’s time to look forward to cozying up with a blanket or sitting next to a fire with a great cider in hand. Northwest Cider Club has the ideal lineup of offerings to fill our cups with a bit of winter cheer.

Northwest Cider Club sources unique cider selections from the region and brings them directly to your door. It’s a great way to be introduced to new cider offerings, whether you’re cider-curious or absolutely cider-obsessed. Often, the ciders in each club box are small-batch offerings from producers that may otherwise be hard to find. The club is an extension of the Northwest Cider Association, a non-profit organization devoted to connecting cider drinkers with area cidermakers.

There are two cider clubs to choose from: the Discover Club and the Elevated Club. The Discover Club box includes six different ciders, while the Elevated Club features four larger-size bottles (750 ml) ready to pop open for any occasion or celebration.

The “Winter Cheer” release will ship in early December, just in time for holiday parties or gift-giving. You can also gift a cider club membership – it is a fun and unexpected gift for the food and beverage lovers on your list. (And it’s always fun to hear about the new favorite ciders your friends and family have discovered with each shipment.)

Discovery Box

Included in the Discover Club box is Little Spy from Double Mountain, a pét-nat style cider made with heirloom cider apples sourced from Oregon’s Hood River Valley. The Hood River cidery’s flagship dry cider is also included, which is fermented with champagne yeast. Union Hill Cider Company’s Field Blend – made with nine different types of apples – is on the menu, along with Schilling Hard Cider’s perfect fall and winter offering made with a chai tea blend, Chaider. The Discover Box also features a cider made with Flathead cherries from Western Cider in Missoula, Montana, along with a single varietal McIntosh cider from Western.

Elevated Box

If you are celebrating with wine-loving friends, wine-size bottles of cider from the Elevated Club box are an easy, shareable pick. A pretty-in-pink hued single varietal Airlies Redflesh Cider is on the menu from Nashi Orchards made with red fleshed apples, as well as their Island Harvest perry from Vashon Island. Brut Nature from RAW Cider, a traditional method sparkling cider, along with RAW’s semi-dry featuring a dosage of Airlie Red is included in the box as well – both are ideal additions to a New Year’s celebration.

Cider lovers can choose to join either the Discover Cider Club, the Elevated Cider Club – or both. You can also purchase a one-time box to try it out. The fourth and final shipment of the year, Winter Cheer, will start shipping early December. Orders are due by November 6. Shipping is available across the U.S. to 39 states, allowing you to join for yourself, or send the shipment to the cider lovers in your life.
