The Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance (WWVWA) released the second annual WWander Walla Walla Valley Wine series of curated winemaker itineraries today. The WWVWA partnered with Walla Walla Valley winemakers to create custom itineraries focused on sharing their Walla Walla, highlighting treasured wineries, eateries and attractions; revealing tips and tricks along the way.
Known for its small-town charm, the Walla Walla Valley is home to the highest concentration of wineries in Washington, close to 3,000 acres of vineyards and panoramic views of the Blue Mountains. Walla Walla’s vibrant arts and culture scene, culinary meccas, adventurous outdoor activities and wine community has grown in the past fifteen years and continues to surprise and delight both wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.
“Travelers love to do what the locals do and who better to recommend a weekend full of activities than the celebrated winemakers of the Walla Walla Valley? Each itinerary is unique to a winemaker and offers a planned trip for even the last-minute traveler!” shares Ashley Riggs, Chief Operating Officer of the WWVWA. “The Walla Walla Valley is gorgeous with harvest in full swing during the fall. As winter sets in, visitors can escape to the peaceful Valley by flying directly into our regional airport.
This year’s program includes 10 new itineraries available Thursday through Sunday from October 11 to December 16, 2018. Visitors can register for the itinerary of their choice at WallaWallaWine.com/WWander beginning September 3. Registrants gain access to the full itinerary and receive exclusive waived tasting fees* and a 10% discount on two or more bottles* at the itinerary author’s host winery. Registration is free, and the itinerary is a pay-as-you-go experience. *Mobile check-in is required at the itinerary author’s winery to receive benefits.

REINGINER Winery – Itinerary created by Chuck Reininger, founder and winemaker
• An avid cyclist, Chuck recommends exploring the Agricultural Exclusive Zone of Walla Walla via one of the many Walla Walla Valley Bike Paths.
• Stop to learn about local history and search for evidence of the Missoula Floods at the Whitman Mission National Historic Site.
• Dinner at a local favorite, Brasserie Four – Chuck recommends the bouillabaisse and the lamb.
• A tasting of the lineup at REININGER Winery, known for their Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Carménère.

• Start your day on Main Street and hit the Saturday Farmer’s Market in Crawford Park, the Montelliet Fromagerie stall is not to be missed.
• Visit the Southside Wineries to taste the current releases and take in panoramic morning views at Amavi Cellars and Pepper Bridge Winery.
• With so many excellent dinner options, Jean-François recommends a progressive dinner making stops at Brasserie Four, Saffron Mediterranean Kitchen and T MAC’s.

• Start the day at The Colville Street Patisserie with a dry cappuccino and gougère and head over to Whitman College campus for an art walk.
• Hunt for vintage treasure at the many eclectic shops and antique markets, like Tra Vigne on Main Street.
• Enjoy DAMA Wines newly refurbished tasting room for an artful, playful and soulful tasting experience.
