City of McMinnville Launches Wine Walk Passport Program

With dozens of wineries and vineyards in the city of McMinnville, wine lovers don’t have to go far to find Oregon’s famous Pinot Noir, white wines and rosés. As of this month, visitors will now be able to stroll and savor the charm of historic McMinnville, as they track their McMinnville winery tastings with the new Wine Walk Passport, launching with a special media preview on Monday, May 9th. The passport highlights 20 tasting rooms, with additional “Bragging Rights Bonus Stops” breweries and distilleries along the way.

Known as the “Heart of Oregon Wine Country,” McMinnville is world famous for both its viticulture and artisan dining experiences. McMinnville makes a great family-friendly getaway also, from exploring the Spruce Goose at the Evergreen Air Museum to tubing down a waterslide coming out of a 747 jumbo jet at the museum’s water park.

In 2014, the McMinnville City Council started laying the groundwork to establish McMinnville as a world-class tourism destination. Council members created a funding source and a leadership panel to design a plan promoting tourism as a primary pillar of the city’s long-term economic development strategy.
