Vivacity Spirits Bankers’ Gin

by | Nov 27, 2015

Vivacity Spirits takes the title as Willamette Valley’s first female-owned microdistillery—one of five in the nation, to be exact. Caitlin Prueitt and her business partner and spouse, Chris Neumann, run the small-batch distillery in Corvallis, Oregon, under the notion of providing “an expanded flavor experience” from locally sourced products. Prueitt brings with her a degree from Oregon State University’s fermentation sciences program, along with extensive work experience in wineries, breweries and labs to round out her palate.

Launching with a vodka a few years back, Vivacity now has a rum, Turkish coffee liqueur and two gins on the spirits list. The Bankers’ Gin is everything a London Dry-style gin should be—crisp, aromatic, floral and herbaceous, with a citrusy backbone and just enough juniper. On the palate, distinct notes of pine, rose, mint and lavender dance with lemon alongside the juniper, before the gin finishes on a bright note with the lightest touch of spice. A distinct round up of the expanded flavor experience Prueitt and Neumann aim for.
