Square Mile Hard Apple Cider

by | May 28, 2013

The powerhouse producers and marketers behind the Craft Brew Alliance (Redhook, Kona, Widmer and Omission) released their first cider project last month, Square Mile Cider Company, available on draft and 22-ounce bottles for retail. Inspired by “fortitude and perseverance of the early American settlers who traveled the Oregon Trail,” Square Mile Cider is named for the original apple orchards planted on the square mile parcels of land claimed by early Northwestern settlers. Made in Portland with Red Delicious, Yellow Delicious and Johnny Gold apples, the ciders are picked and pressed by hand into the traditional Hard Apple Cider. A classic counterbalance of sweet and tart, crisp and rich apple aromas and flavors, the medium-dry cider is refreshing from start to finish and boasts a buzz of 6.7% ABV to boot.
