PNW Drinks for PNW Pro Sport Teams

by | May 21, 2019

What’s the best thing about sports? It is arguably spending time with friends, drinking a few beers and watching your favorite team score some points. Now you are able to watch some of your favorite team’s, while drinking a co-branded beverage made in collaboration with some of your favorite local drink-makers. Here are six collaborations between local sports teams and local craft bevvies that might just making you score your own gooooooooal.

Portland Trail Blazers + Townshend’s Tea Co. Special Edition Rip City

Townshend’s Tea Co. offers a unique flavor of kombucha in honor of the Portland Trail Blazers. The basketball team’s branded drink is called “Special Edition Rip City,” the first kombucha to ever be sold inside an NBA stadium. The kombucha has strong rose flavors with live probiotic cultures inside, making this Trail Blazers-branded drink ideal for gut health. Buy this organic white tea blend and support one of your favorite Portland teams.

Portland Timbers + Widmer Brothers Brewing Hefe

The Portland Timbers has teamed up with Widmer Brothers Brewing to bring fans a co-branded beverage. Hefe, a nine-time Great American Beer Festival medal winner, is now the team’s official craft beer. The 16-ounce cans are only one symbol of the company and the team’s 20 year long standing relationship — the citrusy, floral Hefe has long been a collaboration brew with the team but it just recently got the official nod. The award-winning beer is also the official craft beer for the Portland Trail Blazers.

Seattle Seahawks + Elysian Brewing Co. The Noise

Finally, a locally made beer connected to the Seattle Seahawks and its raucous stadium. Brewed in Seattle by Elysian Brewing, The Noise is now the team’s official craft beer, a celebration of the football season via pale ale with the ideal combo of citrus, vanilla and candied orange to get you excited for the game. A portion of proceeds are donated to Plymouth Housing Group, an organization dedicated to eliminating homelessness. A good drink that represents a good team and a good cause: What more could you ask for?

Portland Trail Blazers + Adelsheim Wine 50th Anniversary Pinot Noir

From the Chehalem Mountains AVA, Adelsheim has created a wine label in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Trail Blazers. The wine’s label incorporates the team’s jersey designs over the years, as well as images of Portland sports stadiums, and will be showcased on both a Pinot Noir and Chardonnay edition coming out this fall. Fans who hold season tickets for the Trail Blazers are able to get complimentary wine tasting at the vineyard’s tasting room in Newberg, Oregon.

Portland Thorns + 2 Towns Ciderhouse Two Thorns

2 Towns Ciderhouse in Corvallis has created a unique beverage named after the Portland Thorns, solidifying this Oregon relationship. The seasonal cider will be released next month release, a blend of fresh-pressed Northwest apples, raspberries and rose petals to connect drinkers with the team’s name and heart. This berry-and-floral cider makes for a perfect drink to sip while cheering on the beloved professional women’s soccer team.

Seattle Sounders + Redhook Brewing

Seattle’s original craft brewer, Redhook Brewing has partnered up with the city’s adored FC, the Sounders. This brewer now creates its unique offerings from the top of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood after brewing for decades in Woodinville, Washington, now bringing a variety of craft beverages to Sounders fans sure to fit any needs. A small portion of the proceeds go to the team and also ensures new craft beer at the team’s home turf of CenturyLink Field.
