Heater Allen IsarWeizen

by | Aug 21, 2014

A true family affair, McMinnville, Ore.,’s Heater Allen Brewing is a father-daughter operation of Rick and Lisa Allen. Mother Jan wasn’t forgotten, her maiden name, “Heater,” took first title in the twofold brewery’s handle. After 25 years of homebrewing, Rick Allen started Heater Allen in 2007 and daughter Lisa joined two years later. Based on a recipe from the Isar Bräu Brew Pub in Munich, Germany, the IsarWeizen is a wheat beer that joins a long line of Bavarian ales and lagers from the Oregon brewery. Bombastic with aromas of clove, nutmeg, orange marmalade and banana bread, this hefeweizen-style ale is robust and rich in flavors of orange fruits, brioche, spice but balances out with fresh acidity and a dry finish.
