(Seattle, WA – January 6, 2024) – Salt & Straw Ice Cream is excited to announce that they are opening a new scoop shop in Seattle in the Queen Anne neighborhood. A family-run business, Salt & Straw was founded by cousins Kim and Tyler Malek. The Pacific Northwest-based company has been making award-winning ice cream that tells the story of artisans, farmers and meaningful food moments for 13 years. Co-founder and ice cream innovator, Tyler Malek, creates a menu of classic flavors, alongside monthly rotating menus that reflect culinary trends, seasonality of ingredients and relevant cultural moments.
Kim Malek, Co-Founder and CEO, spent years calling Seattle home, while Tyler Malek hails from Washington. Their deep connection to the region shines through in their creative collaborations with local businesses, resulting in some of their most iconic flavors. Partnerships with Washington-based favorites like Rachel’s Ginger Beer, Wunderground Coffee, Fran’s Chocolate, Métier Brewing, Boon Boona Coffee, Ezell’s Famous Chicken, and Beecher’s Cheese celebrate the rich culinary heritage of the area.
