A unique Bottled in Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey using heritage triticale grain descending from Scotland
Dayton, Ore – Branch Point Distillery is thrilled to announce the release of its highly anticipated 6-Year Bottled in Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey. As with the inaugural release in 2022 this Bottled in Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey is unique in including the grain triticale in the mash recipe. Triticale, a natural hybrid of rye and wheat developed in Scotland in the 1800s, combines the spice and complexity of rye with the approachability of wheat.
Our bourbon starts with a mash of 67% organic white sweet corn, 18% locally grown Oregon triticale and 15% distillers malted barley. After double pot distillation, the whiskey was matured in #4 char barrels for over 6 years before being bottled at 100 Proof.
Bottled in Bond, a certification that guarantees the whiskey has been distilled by one distiller during one distilling season, aged for a minimum of four years and bottled at exactly 100 Proof, ensures a product of unparalleled purity and character. On the nose you’ll find honeycomb, cooked apples and caramelized BBQ sauce. The palate is rich with vanilla custard, warm apple crisp and soft caramel. The finish is long with caramel corn, cinnamon candy, and baking spices. 6 years. 50% ABV – 100 Proof. $79.95 per 750 mL.
Founded in 2016, Branch Point is a small independent distillery that chooses to focus exclusively on grain to glass whiskey and on the premise whiskey should reflect its place of origin. We utilize traditional methods of production such as grain-in fermentation, distillers malt, slow fermentation, double pot distillation, low barrel entry proofs, and non-chill filtration. With each step of production, choices are made to maximize flavor for the creation of delicious whiskeys found nowhere else.
