It’s not hard trying to find something to do in the lively city of Portland. Any restaurant or bar will most likely suit your needs, and then some. So when this city decided to have a feast, it had to be a big one that took several days to complete.
After a prosperous first year, Feast Portland roars back into the city of roses with four days of nonstop food and drink events from local chefs, brewers, winemakers, artisans and more, Sept. 19–22. This flagship celebration will feature more than 40 classes, seminars, tastings and dining experiences with proceeds going to Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon and Share Our Strength to help fight childhood hunger.
The first of many main events is the Widmer Brothers Brewing Sandwich Invitational in the heart of the city at Director Park. At this wild kickoff, 15 chefs will refresh what it means to create a culinary masterpiece between two slices of bread. Local beer, wine and cocktails will be provided throughout the event.
On Friday, head to one of the nation’s most revered night markets, as the feast invades the city’s Ecotrust building for the USA Pears Night Market, a Southeast Asian and Latin inspired street food bazaar. Sips from Oregon-made Sake One, Big Bottom Whiskey and Rogue Spirits will be just some of beverages to enhance your culinary experience from these far away lands.
Still in it for the long haul, High Comfort at The Nines is sure to be a knock out. Michelin star chefs will take pleasure in preparing comfort food masterpieces with ingredients such as Iberian ham, foie gras and candy bars. Decadence is calling, and it demands its definition back.
After loosening up your belt, wake up and grab your bike for the Cielo Salon Brunch Ride. Join local bike enthusiast Chris King for a morning ride starting at his shop then circling back, where a prepared brunch waits.
