Northbank Beer Week Starts September 7

by | Sep 5, 2023

Northbank Beer Week returns to southwest Washington September 7 through 16. Many of the participating local breweries have taprooms in Vancouver, Washington — just north of Portland, Oregon. This celebration of brews from the north bank of the Columbia River began eight years ago to showcase craft beer from this thriving but lesser-known region. “The idea was spawned from beer weeks in Portland, San Francisco and other West Coast cities,” says Mike DiFabio of Fortside Brewing Company. “Michael Perozzo of ZZEPPELIN came up with this idea for us to have our own event. It also gives us an opportunity to have fun after a long summer.”

Trap Door Brewing leads this year’s mega collaboration, bringing together brewers from the Northbank Brewers Alliance for a West Coast Pilsner called Pee-Chee Pils — a crisp, light brew with notes of stone fruit and elderflower.

Events for the Northbank Beer Week include the following:

  • Sept. 73Peaks Public House & Taproom in Ridgefield, Washington, hosts a kick-off celebration with a no-cover patio party featuring over 25 Northbank breweries.
  • Sept. 11-16Heathen Brewing’s celebration of all-things-sour called Yippee Ki Yay, Motherpucker follows at their Feral Public House in downtown Vancouver.
  • Sept. 12 – D.B. Cooper–themed neighborhood hangout Victor 23 Craft Brewing throws a Paper Airplane Race.
  • Sept. 15 – The popular Pinewood Beer Can Derby Races take place at Ben’s Bottle Shop
  • Sept. 16 – The Brewing Bridges Collaboration Festival takes place at Fort Vancouver, pairing 20 southwest Washington breweries with 20 out-of-the-area breweries from Oregon, Texas and Nevada to draft unique collaboration brews. Some of these collabs include Brothers Cascadia Brewing and Swift Cider, Vice Beer and Baerlic Brewing, 54-40 Beer and Hopworks Brewery.
