2018 Black Label Reserve Merlot
Succession Wines | Manson, Wash.

A sleek and sexy black label clings to an equally dark bottle, hinting at what might come from the wine inside. While cocoa, spices and vanilla connect with dark cherry to supply the expected richness, bright, tart red fruit leans that out a bit. In the end, this medium-bodied Merlot from Candy Mountain Vineyard in the Yakima Valley is smooth and soft on the palate, with acidity, moderate tannin and red berry in the finish.
Price: $68
