The Oregon Wine Board released a new, web-based sales and training resource for the Oregon wine industry today. The innovative Oregon Wine Resource Studio is a mobile-friendly website that houses a comprehensive suite of information and assets illustrating the distinctive aspects of terroir and culture that combine to make Oregon a world-class winegrowing region. Free, downloadable, and customizable presentation materials are publicly available, enabling anyone to learn about, train others on or sell Oregon wine.
Created by the Oregon Wine Board, the Oregon Wine Resource Studio content was developed in a truly Oregonian collaborative style. Oregon winemakers and winegrowers from each AVA contributed, and world-renowned climate, soil and wine experts were important partners in telling the uniquely compelling story of Oregon’s premium winegrowing regions. Highlights of the Oregon Wine Resource Studio include a visual timeline of the industry’s history and discussions of Oregon’s climate, geology, environmental stewardship and more.
“Like many Oregon wine industry achievements over the last 50 years, the Oregon Wine Resource Studio is the result of our wine community coming together and thinking outside the box to address a need,” said Michelle Kaufmann, communications manager at the Oregon Wine Board. “This will be the first dedicated encyclopedic digital tool that covers the wine regions of an entire state and we couldn’t be more excited to see this project come to life.”
Users looking to access materials covering all major topics can dive right into the complete Oregon Wine presentation. Alternately, they can peruse the site to pick and choose the topics most relevant to their individual story and audience. PowerPoint slides can be easily rearranged to cater to diverse sets of audiences. For those on the go, this mobile-friendly website enables content and PDF presentations to be viewed on any tablet or smartphone.
The materials on the Oregon Wine Resource Studio are meant to be shared freely and customized; users can add their own spin and story by downloading the Oregon Wine Resource Studio Template Kit. To make sharing as easy as possible, the Oregon Wine Board has chosen to protect these materials using a Creative Commons license. An alternative to more stringent copyrighting, this license allows for content changes and requires only attribution, rather than permission, when sharing.
