4 Spirits Distillery Bourbon Whiskey

by | Mar 13, 2015

Drink enthusiast, entrepreneur and National Guard veteran Dawson Officer enlisted in the business of distilling in 2010. In commemoration of four of his fallen comrades from the Oregon National Guard Delta Co. 2-162 Infantry, Officer (real last name) launched 4 Spirits Distillery in Adair Village, Oregon, just outside of Corvallis. Due to proximity, 4 Spirits might be best known for its WebFoot and SlapTail vodkas that don label art for Oregon State University Beavers and University of Oregon Duck fans.

Five years into the biz, 4 Spirits eases off the slapstick and gets serious with their Bourbon Whiskey, an 80-proof, 20 percent rye, three-year barrel-aged, straight bourbon. Aged for a total of four-and-a-half years, the result is a lighter style, sweet and spiced with savory tones like a bundle of herbs, citrus rind and slight vanilla.

Giving back to his community and fellow veterans, a minimum of 10 percent of the proceeds of this whiskey are donated to various veteran charities around the state of Oregon, especially those focused on reintegration services.
