Living in Oregon, sunshine feels like something I wait for all year. When summer finally arrives, I bask in the abundance of longer evenings, slow conversation, and a little more time spent outside with folks I love.
This bright, bubbly apéritif was created for these moments. It features FreeWildShe Yuzu Bitters, a summer release from our small-batch bitters and loose-leaf tea company based in Dayton, Oregon. At FreeWildShe, we work with whole botanicals to create layered, distinctly flavored bitters that bring depth, balance, and a little delight to everyday drinks.
Yuzu is a fragrant Japanese lemon with bright, tart notes and a soft floral edge. In this cocktail, the Yuzu Bitters add a citrusy lift and herbal complexity to the honeyed notes of Lillet Blanc. Accompani Mari Gold brings earthy warmth, while Dappled Floral Tonic adds bubbles and a delicate floral finish. Together, the ingredients create something light, sunny, and easy to enjoy before dinner or alongside a spread of summer snacks.
It’s a drink made for porch sipping, garden gatherings, or golden-hour conversations with friends. Simple to build, lovely to serve, and layered with flavor.
It turns any summer evening into an invitation to slow down and sip something beautiful.
