We Dig: Sunny Brewpub Seats in Washington

by | Aug 4, 2015

Here in the Northwest, most of our time throughout the year is spent in the comfort of the indoors. With all the rain and cold that usually persists, we have grown accustomed to the loving embrace of shelter. However, this year has been hot. And we are not prepared. We jerry-rig fans in awkward positions in an attempt to get some relief from the sun’s ever-present heat, but most of the time it is not enough. The easiest solution is such a foreign idea to most of us that it never crosses our mind—just go outside.

Luckily there are brewpubs that have us covered. When the heat is just too much and a building becomes a sauna, a patio is a godsend. It is cool, it is breezy, and best of all, you will have a cold drink in your hand. If you are looking for places to cool down, have a drink, and venture outdoors, try some of these great Washington pub patios.

Everybody’s Brewing || White Salmon
With outside seating for up to 50 people that sports views of Mt. Hood on the Washington side, Everybody’s Brewing is an idyllic spot to grab a drink with friends. White Salmon is right in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge and offers a great escape from the heat. The whole family is welcome to stop by, as along with serving ice-cold beers, the menu will have something for everyone to enjoy.

Icicle Brewing Company || Leavenworth
In the breathtaking Bavarian-themed town of Leavenworth sits a brewery that will impress. Its outdoor patio offers a place to relax, rejuvenate and rediscover the pleasures of the wilderness. Offering a wide selection of professionally perfected beers, it is a great spot for a vacation from your vacation.

Redhook Brewery || Woodinville
Redhook had outdoor entertainment planned from the beginning. The brewery features expansive grounds that Redhook uses to host a wide variety of festivities throughout the warm months. One of the more popular events is the Moonlight Cinema Series, where you can drink an ice-cold beer watch a movie on a giant outdoor screen.

Fremont Brewing || Seattle
Fremont is focused on making beer, and making good beer at that. So when you go to their Urban Beer Garden, they will not offer much else besides what they are focused on. However, unlike most places, they encourage you to bring your own food to compliment your beverage. So feel free to get a street hotdog or takeout from a neighboring eatery, claim a spot in the shade and order a few beers.

Old Schoolhouse Brewery || Winthrop
In the little town of Winthrop, located on the main strip of the Old West-style storefronts sits the Old Schoolhouse Brewery ready to be explored. Like much of the town, Schoolhouse captures the time and feel of a period long lost, and offers great beer to go along. Their outdoor seating also includes a stage that often features live music and events.

Bale Breaker Brewing Company || Yakima
The Bale Breaker taproom, titled the The Baling Room, offers both indoor and outdoor seating for their beer lovers to enjoy. With grass to sprawl out on or covered picnic tables to gather around and hop fields to gaze at, The Baling Room is a place to rest your legs and drink a cold one.
