June is finally upon us and we could not be more ready for it. Vacations are being planned, schools are being released (is that a good thing?) and fun times are just around the corner. However, sometimes it can be difficult to track down all the exciting things that will be happening over the next few months. There are so many events taking place that you might not know where to start. As always, we’ve got your covered.
Ever been to a concert at a winery? Have you always wanted to see the Doobie Brothers play, but just never got the chance? Well this summer may just be your best summer if you attend some of these fun-filled events that we will be highlighting. And not to worry, a drink in the hand is not frowned upon, but actually highly encouraged at all these venues this June!
Maryhill Winery || June 6 – Emily Overstreet and Jamie McMullen || Located on the Washington banks of the Columbia River, Maryhill is home to one of the most beautiful amphitheaters in the state. Unfortunately, this summer the theater and the highway leading to it will be undergoing construction and so the summer concert series that is usually held at the winery will not be taking place. But do not fret! Maryhill will still be providing live music on their vine-covered terrace for those who want a nice glass of wine and a personal atmosphere with the performers. On June the 6th, Emily Overstreet and Jamie McMullen will be providing folk-rock music to terrace-goers, so be sure to check them out! || Goldendale, WA
Arbor Crest || Various dates in June || Throughout the summer, Arbor Crest Winery hosts their Sunday Concert series at the Cliff House Estate and tasting room that overlooks the Spokane Valley. A destination unto itself and a panorama worth gaping over, Arbor Crest also rolls in local talent to play their stage to cap off the weekend. Performers range from indie alt rock to R&B and country. || Spokane, WA
Edgefield || Various dates in June || McMenamin’s ultimate adult playground (see distillery, brewery, winery, cidery, golf course, spa, movie theater, hotel and more) also has a year-round concert series and June brings equally big deal sounds to their set list. Ingrid Michaelson, The Doobie Brothers and Willie Nelson with Allison Krauss & Union Station will all grace the stage in the first month of summer. || Troutdale, OR
Chateau Ste Michelle || June 19 – Smash Mouth, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Tonic || Nestled in the woods of Woodinville, Washington, sits Chateau Ste Michelle, sits a founding father of Washington Wine Country. On the 19th, you can be transported back to 1999 when Smash Mouth inevitably begins to play their hit “All-Star” in the Chateau Ste. Michelle Amphitheater. They will be joined by Toad the Wet Sprocket (“Walk on the Ocean”) and Tonic (“If You Could Only See”). Wines and turn-of-the-millennium music has never been a better match. || Woodinville, WA
Les Schwab Amphitheater || June 19 – The Doobie Brothers || If you find yourself in Bend, Oregon, mid-June, you may want to catch this classic act performing at the Les Schwab Amphitheater. The beautiful outdoor venue, which is also the site for the exceedingly popular Bend Brewfest in August, sits along the Deschutes River, and provides for a beautiful view to pair with the beautiful sounds. To continue that beauty, why not have a few drinks while you enjoy the show! || Bend, OR
Penner-Ash Wine Cellars || June 23 – Top Chef Benefit Dinner || For those wanting something a little less loud and definitely more delicious, Penner-Ash is hosting a benefit dinner with the Top 3 finalists in Bravo’s “Top Chef” reality TV show. The dinner is $250 a plate and goes towards the Children’s Cancer Association. The three chefs will prepare a wonderful meal paired with Penner-Ash wine, all set to the views of vineyards and to the live sounds of Hook and Anchor. || Newburg, OR
Oak Knoll Winery || June 25 – Dance Hall Days || Bring your picnic dinner, your on-leash dogs, your thirst for Oregon XXX and get ready to enjoy classic rock tunes on spacious lawn of Oak Knoll Winery. The all-ages summer concert series kicks off with Portland band, Dance Hall Days, and pushes into the season with a line-up of local artists and open-mic nights. || Hillsboro, OR
