Vinn Distillery Vodka

by | Mar 21, 2014

Vinn Distillery handcrafts gluten free spirits. No, not because Zooey Deschanel has a wheat allergy or because they are testing a savvy dietary plan. It’s because their ancient distillate recipes use rice instead of wheat and go back seven generations in their bi-national lineage. The Ly family migrated from China to the Quang Ninh Province in North Vietnam four generations ago, now the current age group brings their tradition of spirits to the Northwest. Originally distilled to honor their ancestors, the Ly family and their Vinn Distillery offer Asian historical convention to Portland’s Distillery Row with two traditional spirits of Mijiu and Baijiu white rice liquors, along with their vodka—the first rice vodka produced and bottled in the states. Creamy and smooth like rice milk, the Vinn Distillery Vodka is lightweight and texturally pleasing while still highly mixable, like in the Vinn Dragon—a vodka, pineapple juice, club soda combo splashed with lime juice.
