Tuesday Cocktail Club: AVID Cider Co. Releases Cocktails in a Can

by | Feb 21, 2024

Based in Bend, Oregon, since 2013, AVID Cider Co. has been known for its sessionable hard ciders including blackberry, dragon fruit and imperial royal apricot. Now, the cidery is introducing an equally easy-to-drink beverage — a new lineup of ready-to-drink canned cocktails affectionately named Tuesday Cocktail Club.

“HOMEtainment, a phenomenon we’ve all experienced ever since the 2020 years, left us wanting a premium, delicious, affordable cocktail experience without having to hire a personal chauffeur or bartender,” says Samantha Roberts, founder of AVID Cider Co. “It’s all of the elevated experience of a cocktail at a price point everyone can enjoy. It’s a cocktail for a Tuesday, or any other day of the week.”

Three Canned Cocktail Flavors

With its launch, AVID is introducing three flavors: Mango Margarita, Peach Bellini and Marionberry Mojito. Each is bubbly, fruity, gluten free and made with all-natural flavors. Moreover, Roberts notes that the fruit used is sourced as close to home as possible. “With marionberries being such a classic Pacific Northwest berry, we were able to tap into vendors from the region to provide that unique flavor and a truly Pacific Northwest spin on the beloved mojito.”

While the beverages in the Tuesday Cocktail Club lineup are considered wine cocktails, it’s important to distinguish that these drinks aren’t made from grapes. “The definition of wine is just any high-gravity fermentation of any fruit. Nearly any flavorful fruit can be turned into ‘wine,’” says Roberts.

Pressed apples are just a part of the recipe. “We’re always considering how we can use this American fruit to make something distinctly different. When you see our cocktails, the flavor profiles and the names, you don’t necessarily see American traditions, but we’re using America’s fruit to reinvent modern American trends. Tuesday Cocktail Club is an American apple beverage with no apple flavor and all of the exquisite distinction of a cocktail,” says Roberts.

The fruit is high-gravity fermented, meaning the ferment is pushed as far as possible to get the desired alcohol content, with this lineup reaching 10.5% ABV per 12-ounce can. Tuesday Cocktail Club flavors are sold in 4-packs.

Distribution of AVID Cider Co.’s Tuesday Cocktail Club lineup will begin in February across Washington and Oregon, with further national distribution planned for summer 2024.
