The Ground Announces “The Pub” in Downtown McMinnville

by | Apr 22, 2025

Sharing a kitchen with Humble Spirit, The Pub will offer rotating beers on tap, craft cocktails, an extensive wine list, and a small selection of BBQ-focused farm-to-table fare curated by 2025 James Beard semifinalist, Chef Sarah Schafer.

McMinnville, Ore. (April 21, 2025) Yamhill County’s regenerative agriculture and hospitality group The Ground, which includes restaurant Humble Spirit and Stillwater event venue, is excited to announce the launch of its newest culinary concept, The Pub. The new community gathering place will be located in downtown McMinnville at 326 NE Davis Street. The space, housed in what was once a library, incorporates elements of this history into its decor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that honors the building’s past. The Pub is scheduled to begin service in late April.

Sharing a kitchen with its sister restaurant, Humble Spirit, The Pub will offer a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere while maintaining a deep commitment to regenerative farming and responsibly sourced ingredients. Chef Sarah Schafer, recently recognized as a 2025 James Beard Awards semifinalist, will oversee The Pub’s menu alongside her leadership at Humble Spirit. She will curate a focused selection of small plates to complement its extensive beverage program. While Humble Spirit continues to refine its farm-to-table dining experience, The Pub will be a beverage-forward gathering space where thoughtfully crafted drinks take center stage, accompanied by high-quality, intentionally sourced fare.

“We’re excited to expand our hospitality offerings with a concept that celebrates smoked flavors and delicious cocktails while maintaining our dedication to regenerative farming and hyperlocal sourcing practices,” said Chef Sarah Schafer.

The Pub’s menu will feature smoked dishes, including 100% grass-fed beef and pastured pork from The Ground’s Tabula Rasa and Source Farms. Guests can delight in rotating specialties such as tender beef chuck, pulled pork, and Louisiana Red Hot links. The signature Animal Farm Platter will offer a selection of smoked meats accompanied by sides like spicy red slaw, beans, and mac & chicharron. Humble Spirit’s popular dishes, like Fried Chicken sandwich and Smashburger, will round out the menu, focusing on hearty fare that can easily transition to brunch by adding a farm-fresh egg. The extensive beverage program will highlight craft cocktails, local spirits, wine, and beer on tap, reflecting the rich beverage culture of the Willamette Valley.

The Pub will welcome walk-ins, offer takeout options and during the summer months feature an outdoor area. It will be open daily, for a complete list of hours click here. Summer programming will include special outdoor events featuring live music and family-friendly activities in conjunction with community gatherings like UFO Fest and Cruisin’ McMinnville.
