SPIRIT FRIDAY: Ye Ol’ Grog Distillery Good Morning Glory Grog

Funny thing about grog is that it’s grog. Possibly the red-headed stepsister of rum, grog is said to have originally been a concoction made for for the British Royal Navy while on-board — a quirky elixir of rum, water and lime. Today, grog is defined simply as grog, a specialty spirit or general term for an alcoholic beverage. For St. Helens, Ore.’s Ye Ol’ Grog Distillery, grog is also a way of life. The Good Morning Glory Grog is a perfumey grain-based distillate, exuding a heady Fruit Juicy gum aroma, backed with agave fruit, spice and a nectar sweetness. Ideal for a cocktail to rock you into a daydream of warmer days to come.
