BEER THURSDAY: Hale’s Ales Kölsch German-Style Ale

Mike Hale, founder and president of Hale’s Ales in Seattle, fell in love with beer while on a year-long cycling trip in Germany and England. On July 4, 1983, Mike released his first beer, Hale’s American Pale Ale, and the rest is Washington state beer history. Now, 30 years later, Hale’s Ales is a Seattle staple and its Kölsch German-Style Ale is a throwback to Mike’s first love of German beer. Mild malts, a hint of corn, yeast and apple fruit aromas come out on the initial bouquet. The palate is as it should be – crisp, clean, lean and refreshing. Ideal for more than just one pint.
