Sporting Sips: NW Teams Take on Drinks

by | Feb 17, 2014

Breweries, wineries and more continue to support Northwest sports teams as official partners.

We sure are proud of our sports teams in this corner of the country (NFL CHAMPS!), and it seems like each season a new local company steps up to support a team or become an official partner. Sip along with your favorite teams and support local this season!

Portland Timbers: In early February, this Oregon soccer team gained Corvallis’ 2 Town Ciderhouse as an official partner. 2 Town’s hard apple cider will be offered at all 19 Timbers games during the 2014 season, and will also televise all games on location at their taproom in Corvallis. Not only that, but the Timbers boast an official craft beer sponsor in Portland’s Widmer Brothers, where the Green & Gold Kolsch was brewed up specifically for the 2013 Timbers season.

Seattle Sounders: As the official beer of this soccer team since 2011, Seattle’s Redhook Brewery will soothe your throat as you cheer, chant and scream on the Sounders. Top Pot Doughnuts also provide the office doughnut and coffee for CenturyLink field, home of the Sounders and the Seahawks.

Seattle Seahawks: Speaking of the Seahawks, this season marked the creation of The 12th Can from the Ballard neighborhood’s Hilliard’s and a 12th man wine label from Northwest Cellars as the Seattle football team headed for the Super Bowl earlier this month. Any wine from Northwest Cellars can have a 12th Man labeled slapped on, just ask!  The seasonal 12th Can pale ales were specially made for the Seahawks season. Even Jones Soda jumped on the 12th Man bandwagon with colorful limited edition drinks!
