Seattle Cider Co. Gravenstein Rosé

by | May 26, 2015

Seattle Cider Company has seen colossal growth in recent months. With the expansion of a new taproom and production space to open early this summer, distribution has also hit nearly double digit markets and demand for the ciders is on the rise. The team has sought to meet this, with swelling production and releasing limited and seasonal bottlings. One such limited release to get your hands on before it’s too late is the Gravenstein Rosé, a single varietal cider released earlier this month. Comprised completely of Gravenstein apples from Washington state, this floral, early-ripening apple was pressed and aged in oak barrels that previously harbored Petit Verdot, giving the cider even more heightened aromatics, slight astringency and pretty in pink hues. Complex with tart and tangy apple tones, this cider brings a different flavor profile to the typically fruit-forward cidery. Topped with wax, defeat the cover by cutting a line over the cap with a wine key, popping off each the now-halved wax pieces then popping that bottle top and enjoying.
