It’s been 13 years since Ross Mickel started Ross Andrew Winery, after gathering some grape grit under his nails at Australia’s Rosemount Winery and working for Woodinville, Wash. greats DeLille Cellars and Betz Family Winery. It’s been a decade since Ross Andrew Winery has produced a rosé and for the first time under the Meadow series of wine. The grapes for the 2012 Meadow Rosé were crushed and cold-soaked on the skins to achieve the wine’s pretty pink hue, although the winery plays coy with what grapes were actually used in the blend. Nonetheless, the wine is vibrant with acidity and blushing with citrus and red berries aromas, and flavors to match with boysenberry, raspberry and red currants, followed by a touch of citrus zest in the dry, crisp finish.
