Discover the science of the vine at Seattle’s Pacific Science Center.

Entertain your mind along with your taste buds at STEM: Science Uncorked. On Thursday, April 24 indulge in unlimited wine tastings from more than 20 of Washington’s finest wineries, turn your DIY Pinterest board aspirations into realities with “corky” crafts, discover the engineering genius behind the various shapes of wine glasses and savor snacks scientifically paired with their perfect counterparts.

This annual event is a great opportunity for both wine enthusiasts and novices to connect with oenophiles from the Northwest Wine Academy at South Seattle College in an effort to expand their knowledge of this versatile beverage. Guests will have the opportunities to “test the chemical composition of wines; sniff aromatically infused wines to practice identifying specific scents; and learn how the size of wine glasses influences taste as well as which shapes scientifically support balanced flavor for both whites and reds.”

Do yourself a favor and overwhelm your senses with a multitude of scents and flavors—spend your Thursday night underneath the arches in the Pacific Science Center, beneath the landmark Space Needle, discovering the science of the vine. This private, not-for-profit museum has thrived for more than 50 years as a center inspiring scientific and technological curiosity and creativity in the midst of Seattle.

Tickets are on sale now and can be bought online or with limited availability at the door, pricetags are $45 or $40 for members.
