The days have come for the kegs to be tapped, the bottles to be uncapped, and the empty glasses to be filled with brews locally crafted in Oregon. People across the state are dusting off their Pilsners, mugs, and steins in hoppy anticipation for the 4th annual Portland Beer Week.
From June 5– 15, Portland Beer Week celebrates its largest week yet with over 90 events lined up to impress their thirsty patrons. Be it you are looking for some IPAs, rye beers, fruity beers, or even the oh so eclectic sour beers, their will be a festival, tasting, pairing or special perfect for you. From the well-known Portland Fruit Beer Festival setting up camp on June 7 and 8 to the Mississippi/Williams Pub Crawl that will have day drinkers in a doozy on June 14, the events range in tastes, times and prices. Click here for the complete list.
Portland is known as the greatest beer city on earth and this event is not only set to confirm that fact, but to uniquely celebrate it. Not only will their be events obviously dedicated to the brew, but with collaborators like Salt & Straw, Blue Star Donuts, Lardo and Easy Company, there will be specialty ice cream, donuts and sandwiches incorporating the greatness of the official beer of beer week: “Day Drinker Session India Rye Ale.”
It’s time to find your designated drivers, your drinking buddies and your hidden stash of cash and indulge in what the City of Roses is best known for: beer.
