Southeast Portland’s Distillery Row packs six distilleries within blocks of each other, producing more than 20 spirits amongst them. One of the row’s founding fathers, Eastside Distilling, has been producing their artisan spirits since 2009, with ambitions to use only natural ingredients in small batches. New to Eastside’s eclectic lineup is their Oregon Marionberry Whiskey. Handmade as a blend of local marionberries and whiskey, this is pure fruit in the form of classic brown liquor. Loaded up on brambly fruit like marionberries, blackberries and currants, the spirit is jammy up front but balanced with a heated kick of sweet and spiced whiskey. Lingering with vanilla and berry fruit, this spirit could ease the end of a meal or be served up for a aperitif.
