Produced at Kachka’s new Portland distillery, their own premium wheat vodka will be released on July 1st
Portland, Ore. (June 26, 2025) — For over a decade, the bartenders at Kachka have been pouring from one of the U.S.’s most extensive and curated vodka lists and crafting infusions that tell stories of tradition and provenance. Earlier this year, restaurant owners Bonnie and Israel Morales established Kachka Fabrika, a dumpling workshop and distillery operation in Northeast Portland, Oregon. Next month the team will debut a cocktail and zakuski bar adjacent to the distillery. Kachka’s Beverage Director and Distiller Jamie Cecchine began working on a recipe for their ideal of a premium vodka driven by quality and versatility. On July 1st, KACHKA VODKA will be available for sale at Kachka Lavka, Oregon liquor stores, and eventually online to select states.
“We couldn’t be happier to finally be able to offer our own vodka to guests and discerning drinkers,” says Israel Morales, Kachka’s Co-Owner and Director of Operations. “It’s pure, smooth, and well-balanced – wonderful on its own and perfect in a martini.”
KACHKA VODKA is a unique expression of a traditional Russian-style vodka, made with the finest Italian winter wheat, distilled to smooth perfection, blended with pristine water from the Bull Run watershed on the slopes of Mt. Hood, and filtered for clarity and balance. It’s a spirit crafted with purpose, by a family whose roots are deeply embedded in the values of hard work, resilience, and community. Each 750ml bottle (40% ABV / 80 proof) is $24.95.
Kachka Spirits also produces KACHKA HORSERADISH VODKA ($29.95), a traditional infusion of fresh horseradish and local honey, currently available at Kachka Lavka and liquor stores throughout Oregon. Small batch infusions will also be released seasonally exclusively through Kachka Lavka, beginning with KACHKA STRAWBERRY VODKA ($34.95), released on July 1st.
Kachka Lavka is located upstairs from Kachka at 960 S.E. 11th Avenue, Portland, Ore.
About Kachka
Kachka is a culinary destination in Portland, Ore., encompassing a restaurant, deli, dumpling, and vodka brand founded by Bonnie and Israel Morales. In 2025 Kachka expanded to a production space in NE Portland encompassing a dumpling workshop and distillery, known as Kachka Fabrika. A new cocktail bar will open adjacent in summer 2025. The food and drink created and served at Kachka is inspired by the former Soviet Republics, interpreted through the ingredients grown in the Pacific Northwest. This distinctive cuisine is served with warm hospitality in an immersive atmosphere. Kachka has been lauded by The New York Times, Bon Appetit, Food & Wine and more, and was named one of Eater’s “Essential” restaurants in America. Kachka was featured in the Netflix series “Somebody Feed Phil,” and was the subject of an episode of the Emmy award-winning docuseries “The Migrant Kitchen.” In 2022 Kachka created a groundbreaking Wage Equity Program to eliminate tips and ensure sustainable living wages and growth opportunities for all staff, which shifted the way the restaurant industry does business.
