June is Idaho Wine Month!

by | Jun 3, 2014

One may wonder how the beautiful month of June could ever be improved… Well, Idaho has the answer: dedicate the 30 (hopefully) sunny days to wine!

Idaho is an up and coming state in the wine industry, growing grapes in rich, volcanic soils that are being made into barrels of award-winning wines. “Idaho’s outstanding wines have gained national recognition from publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Huffington Post, The Washington Times, Wine Economist and The Washington Post.” There is no wonder a state boasting of such impressive vines is putting on an event-filled month dedicated to tasting, pairing, and discovering the varying delicious liquids treasured within bottles and barrels.

Be it you are free for a weekend, a day, or simply an evening, check out this list of events. There is guaranteed to be an affair, a restaurant special or a winery deal that will meet, or most likely exceed, your desires.

Although events will be going on throughout the month, do not forget to mark your calendars for June 8 – the Idaho Wine Commission will be hosting its sixth annual Savor Idaho. Savor Idaho is the state’s premier wine and food event, an event that your taste buds cannot afford to miss. Held at the Idaho Botanical Garden in Boise from 2-6, Savor Idaho ensures 4 hours of fantastic food, beverages, and conversation with Idaho natives and visitors, aficionados and novices.

Now let’s raise our glasses and toast to a month long celebration of one of the best beverages known to mankind.
