Birthdays, bartenders and bashes!

Liquor pours through the air from a spout to its destination, leaves and fruits muddle together to emanate a sensational aroma, ice rhythmically rattles like music inside a shaker. Once this concoction is poured into a glass, the bartender sits back and awaits the verdict. Is their drink worthy enough to grant them the title of Seattle’s Iron Bartender? You’ll be the judge of that.

Returning for an action-packed afternoon is the Iron Bartender competition this Sunday, June 30. Taking place at Seattle’s Serafina and Cicchetti, five of the city’s top bartenders will put their knowledge of mixology to the test while you decide which unique cocktail pairs the best with one of the dishes from a five course meal.

Stepping into the ring this year is past Iron Bartender MacGregor Boswell of Serafina and Cicchetti. But he may have some difficulty this year as Jay Kuehner of Vessel and Ronin returns for his shot as champion. Also competing against them will be Amanda Reed of Tavern Law, Eric Hakkinen of Zig Zag and Luke McKinley of Ravish.

Moreover, the day marks Serafina’s 22nd birthday. To celebrate this special anniversary, they are holding their annual Garden Party Extravaganza in the courtyard between Serafina and Cicchetti to ring in summer, on what is looking up to be a warm, sunny day.

An array of food and entertainment will be some of the other happenings for guests throughout the day. Enjoy eats right off the grill or dine on the succulent roasted pig. For something a little more sweet than savory, D’Ambrosio Gelato and a selection of choice rosès will provide just that to keep you cool in the warm weather.

If not for the delicious food and drinks, enjoy the free live music and staff talent show later in the day topped off with the romantic view of Lake Union on a pleasant summer evening.
