Three Ciders Perfect for Fall Drinking

Victor, Idaho (August 17, 2021) — Highpoint Cider announces the opening of its new taproom in Victor, featuring the best handmade hard cider in the Tetons. Co-founded by brothers Andrew and Alex Perez, the Highpoint taproom has a warm, casual vibe with open seating, expansive greenery, natural light and additional outdoor seating. The Highpoint taproom also offers a selection of local beers and a curated wine list to complement the in-house ciders. Tours of the cider house are available daily.

While growing up in southern New Hampshire, Alex and Andrew visited their grandparents’ October Farm apple orchard in Mont Vernon, where fall cider making was a family tradition. “We come from a family of entrepreneurs, and I know that our grandparents would have gotten a kick out of seeing Andrew and I starting a cider business together,’ says Alex. “Working so closely together has been amazing, and I know we couldn’t have made Highpoint Cider a reality on our own.”

The Sellout and The Nerd:

Alex left New Hampshire to earn a business degree from Northeastern University in Boston while Andrew received a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry from the University of Vermont. After graduating, Alex lived the corporate life with GE for five years before his great awakening in 2018 as a cider maker. By then he’d lived in Jackson Hole for a year and convinced Andrew, a biochemist and pharmaceutical consultant (aka nerd) to quit his job and join him in Jackson to co-found Highpoint Cider.

The rest, as they say, is history. Neither brother had formal fermentation training, but they bought a book and got to work making cider as quickly as they could. It took more than 250 batches to develop the three core ciders to start the Highpoint product line. Looking to the future, the brothers will continue to experiment with new variations and seasonal ciders.

“Our goal continues to be crafting accessible and delightful-tasting hard ciders that are low in sugar but deliver big flavor,” says Alex.
