Harper’s Trail 2012 Pinot Gris

by | Aug 7, 2013

Just imagine: vines tucked near by the South Thompson River, rolling grassy hills, wild sage, bighorn sheep… That’s right—this isn’t your typical wine region. This is the exciting frontier of BC wine. Harper’s Trail wines are the first made from vineyards in Kamloops, north west of Kelowna, at the top of the Okanagan Valley. The wines are made in Summerland at BC’s acclaimed custom crush facility, Okanagan Crush Pad. The 2012 Pinot Gris is a striking pale orange peach hue, with perfumed floral peonies and peach blossom aromas and a mouth-filling palate of apricot, peach fuzz and herbal Bosc pear. The finish is reined right in with a focused crisp grapefruit rind kick. Pass the halibut (but pass on the sheep)!
