Fort Berens Estate Winery 2013 Rosé

by | Jun 18, 2014

From the eastern outbacks of Lillooet (well, outback for wine regions) comes this bold and bright, bone dry, Pinot Noir rosé.

Fort Berens Winery was established by Dutch immigrants Rolf de Bruin and Heleen Pannekoek in 2005. On the Fraser River, rugged and unspoiled Lillooet is less than two hours north of Whistler, three and a half hours from Vancouver and two hours southwest of Kamloops. According to de Bruin, the climate in Lillooet is comparable to the South Okanagan, and based on the results of this pioneering winery, he will have more neighbors planting vineyards soon.

Deep coral in hue, this rosé opens with candied strawberry and pressed raspberry notes, and moves into punchy flavors of raspberry jellies, pink grapefruit and crisp apple. BBQ chicken burgers, meet your match.
