Admit it—you’ve always wanted to spend the night in a treehouse
Maybe you had a treehouse in your yard as a child. Or, even more yearn-worthy, you didn’t. But you always wanted one, preferably up amidst the branches, colorful and brightly painted, perhaps with ladders and loft beds and a deck even…
Your childhood dreams are about to come true. AND—wine is involved, satisfying your adult dreams as well.
The Treehouse at Elephant Island isn’t an actual house in a tree, it’s a loft suite overlooking the organic cherry orchards at a picturesque winery on Okanagan Valley’s Naramata Bench. Miranda and Del Halladay’s Elephant Island Orchard Wines on Naramata Bench is one of BC’s top winery gems. That’s right—orchard, not vineyard. Elephant Island Orchard Wines produces exceptional wine from premium, lovingly tended, heritage fruit. Their credo: exceptional fruit and nothing else, stainless steel aging, and defining a style that suits the fruit. Cheers!
Consulting winemaker Christine Leroux knows a lot about exceptional fruit, plus how to treat it. She trained at the L’Institut D’Oenologie de Bordeaux, and has work experience with Chateau Petrus, Chateau Margaux and Cassegrain. Just imagine that pedigree and expertise trained towards orchard fruit, rather than grapes.
The Treehouse is a self contained studio loft style suite, colorfully painted and filled with art, in addition to two queen beds, one twin bed and a fully equipped kitchen and bath. The large 450 square foot deck encourages sipping wine in the sunshine while overlooking the orchards and the lake beyond. There’s a BBQ there to make the most of Okanagan’s abundance, and you know that there are beautiful dry, sweet and sparkling wines right beneath suite to pair any mood or meal.
A treehouse, in an orchard, at a winery, on Naramata Bench, in the Okanagan Valley? Race you to it.
