by | Jun 3, 2014

A drink in one hand, the heat of the sun warming your face and shoulders while a view of a busy city sits on the other side of your sunglasses… does anything sound better? Be it you are in need of a date night, business meeting, or simply a drink – the following locations offer a rooftop ambiance that’s impossible to beat on a sunny day.

Departure: Are you in the mood to break out your best designer wear and sip on a masterfully crafted cocktail in the heart of downtown Portland? Located on the 15th story of the Nines Hotel, Departure offers a chic getaway with its sleek design and breathtaking view of the city. Although the inner restaurant and bar impresses its patrons with its modern feel that coincides so nicely with its modern pan Asian cuisine, nothing can top a seat on the outdoor balcony any warm, breezy night.

525 SW Morrison St., Portland

Radio Room: Nestled on the busy Alberta St., Radio Room offers a great view, delicious food, and good drinks in a comfortable atmosphere. Take your pick between sitting on the rooftop balcony and enjoying the fantastic people watching that Portland has to offer, or making new friends around the warm fire pit downstairs. Either way, this restaurant and bar offers a casual ambiance bound to entertain you through the night while the local offerings are sure to sate your hunger and thirst.

1101 NE Alberta St., Portland

Noble Rot Wine Bar: Located on the Eastside of Portland off of Burnside St., Noble Rot offers great outdoor seating and a view of the Portland skyline people yearn to see day and night. Although known for its impeccable wine lists, local brews and crafty cocktails are available as well for those not as tempted by the vine.

Hard Rock Café Seattle: There is no wonder why a Hard Rock Café sits in the heart of the city that boasts of being the home to Jimi Hendrix’s first headliner. Not only is this restaurant and bar noteworthy for its musical memorabilia and recognizable name, but this particular location also offers seating on deck with spectacular views of Pike Place Market, Elliot Bay, and the Olympic Mountains.

AQUA by El Gaucho: AQUA, sitting at the tip of Pier 70, attracts diners with its promise of an elegant night full of delicious indulgences. The menu’s prices reflect this establishment’s culinary prowess and unsurpassable service but are well worth the splurge. Although the dimly lit dining area offers a sultry experience for the romance seekers, the spacious outdoor deck should not be overlooked on summer evenings.
