Cascade Brewing Apricot Sour Ale

by | Jun 5, 2014

Known as one of the leading pioneers in the sour beer brewing movement of the Northwest, Cascade Brewing Barrel House offers of wide range of pleasantly tart ales, as well as classic IPAs, reds and whites for the less venturous crowd. All imaginatively crafted with local ingredients, the extensive menu boasts of their sour beers: tart, fruity brews artfully balanced by the residual sugars, spices, and use of oak barrels.

Although the ever-evolving menu offers a varied selection, the Apricot is a true embodiment of delicious sour ale – barrel aged for 9 months, followed by an additional 6 months of aging on fresh apricots, the scents and tastes of the beverage will have apricot lovers buzzing. Initially, your taste buds may experience a slight shock by the tart flavors, but the sweet, apricot flesh finish will immediately gratify them. Perfect for those looking for a crisp, fruity and refreshing summer sipper. Decide it is too delicious for just one glass? Fear not for you can leave with a bottle or fill up your handy growler.
