Steamworks Brewing Blitzen Belgian Tripel Winter Ale

by | Jan 29, 2015

It’s winter, you need something to warm from the inside. Steamworks Brewing’s Blitzen Belgian Tripel Winter Ale won the top prize at the 2014 BC Beer Awards for “Strong Beer,” so you can imagine it’s up to the challenge. The label on has a steam punk, steam-driven reindeer bursting out of Vancouver’s Science World, remade into a snow globe. Your mind is wheeling before you even take a sip! This lighter hued, hazy ale is in a Belgian triple style with aromas of baked spiced apple and bananas and bright citrus flavors on the full, creamy palate. Quite enjoyable and easy to drink, even for 9 percent ABV.
