Bao Zhong Oolong tea has many names, including Pouchong, Black Dragon, spring tea and more. For Portland’s Tea Chai Te, Bao Zhong Oolong also has coconut tagged onto the label. The light style of oolong (a curling, twisting oxidized leaf), Bao Zhong is typically flush in white flowers and plays with a rich yet mild palate. With the infusion of young coconut nectar, the No. 29 Coconut Oolong is doubled in the obvious aromatics (rose petal, white lily and coconut), but maintains a mellow, pleasant taste. Tea Chai Te recommends steeping the caffeinated tea in dairy (or your milk of choice) for a tea latte or trying their new light and bubbly bottled kombucha variation.
