The Holidays are a perfect time to make a splash with your cocktails; everyone is in a festive mood and eager to toast time spent with friends and family. There are many ways to brighten up your cocktails, but dashing a splash of bubbles is one of the easiest and tastiest! Whether it’s a crisp sparkling apple cider, a clean and dry soda or luxurious sparkling wine, bubbles add the ultimate celebratory finish to your holiday sipping.
So this season, get your festive fizz on with some effervescent Northwest-made products, and raise a glass to the holidays!
BOURBON CIDER SPARKLE
Makes 1 drink
1/2 clementine or mandarin
1 ounce Woodinville Whiskey Bourbon Whiskey
1/2 ounce simple syrup
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
2 ounces Finnriver Artisan Sparkling Apple Cider
Garnish: thin slice of apple
Squeeze and drop the clementine into a cocktail shaker. Measure in the bourbon, simple syrup and lemon juice. Fill with ice, cap and shake vigorously. Strain into a large martini glass and then top with the sparkling cider. Garnish with an apple slice.
RIVIERA 75
Makes 1 drink
1 ounce Pacific Distillery’s Voyager Distilled Dry Gin
1/2 ounce Letterpress Distilling Limoncello
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/2 ounce simple syrup
2 ounces Kramer Vineyard Brut Sparkling Wine
Garnish: lemon twist
Measure the gin, limoncello, lemon juice and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, cap and shake vigorously. Strain in a large martini glass and then top with the sparkling wine. Garnish with a lemon twist.
CUCUMBER RUBY FIZZ
Makes 1 drink (non-alcoholic)
1 sprig fresh thyme
1 ounce Honey Lime Water (recipe follows)
1 ounce pomegranate juice
2 ounces DRY Cucumber Soda, chilled
Garnish: fresh thyme sprig
Bend the thyme sprig and drop into a cocktail shaker. Measure in the Honey Lime Water and pomegranate juice. Fill with ice, cap and shake vigorously. Strain into a large martini glass and then top with the cucumber soda. Garnish with a thyme sprig.
HONEY LIME WATER
Makes enough for about 8 drinks
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
1/3 cup local honey
1/4 cup water
Mix lime juice, honey and water together and refrigerate up to 5 days.
