The husband-and-wife team fell head over heels for each other and the Italian bitter liqueur while traveling through Italy when they got engaged in 2013. They carried their shared love for Italian aperitivo culture back to the various bars they tended in Seattle and established the business in 2019. In 2023, they built a production space and tasting room in Ballard for their amari that is inspired by the seasons of the Pacific Northwest.
