Locust Cider is excited to announce the launch of our NEW Locust Hard Teas. Locust Hard Teas use only premium, direct sourced teas to create an alcoholic beverage packed with real tea flavor. At 100 calories and only 5% ABV, it is ideal for beverage consumers looking for a light, refreshing alternative to hard seltzer.
“Over 80% of Millennials drink tea but there are very few Hard Tea options in the Adult Beverage space,” said Adam Carlson, Vice President of Sales. “Unlike sugar filled teas or hard seltzers with only a hint of tea taste, Locust Hard Tea offers a flavor packed experience that is only 100 calories and delivers real tea taste.”
“When developing our Hard Tea line, it was very important to only use premium, direct sourced teas because using premium real ingredients is our focus, in cider and now in tea”, said Jason Spears, Founder/CEO. “The premium organic rooibos tea creates an aromatic and refreshing experience. You feel good after drinking it.”
Locust Hard Tea is available in two flavors- Botanical Berry and Meyer Lemon. Both are available in 6 packs and draft at all of our Locust Cider Taprooms, as well as participating grocery stores, convenience stores, bars and restaurants in select states that include Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Colorado and Texas. Additional flavors and sizes of Locust Hard Tea will be announced later this year or early 2022.
Locust Cider, founded in 2015 by brothers Jason and Patrick Spears, is based in Washington, specializing in one-of-a kind flavors and innovative beverages made with real premium ingredients. Locust has a community of taprooms across three states. In Washington, we have a NEW cidery and taproom (coming this summer!) in Gig Harbor, a small batch cidery and taproom in Woodinville, WA, standalone taprooms in Seattle (Ballard, Alki Beach, Market Place, Post Alley and First Hill), Redmond, Tacoma, Olympia, Spokane, Walla Walla, and Vancouver, WA. Beyond Washington, we also have cideries with adjoining taprooms in Fort Worth, TX and Boulder, CO as well as new taprooms in Lakewood, CO and Fort Collins, CO. Currently cider cans can be found throughout Washington, Colorado, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, California, Florida and Texas with plans to continue expanding distribution nationally. We also ship to almost every state with more to come soon!
Locust is not just about the cider. A portion of proceeds for all cans as well as our club The Swarm are donated to the Hydrocephalus Association, an important and personal cause to owners Jason and Rebecca Spears whose daughter lives with the incurable brain condition.
