Block 15 Millennium Falcon, Celestial India Pale Ale

by | May 7, 2015

Block 15 Brewing out of Corvallis, Oregon has earned a well deserved reputation over the years for their barrel-aged, fruit-infused Belgian style sours. Available by the bottle, only released in small batches randomly throughout the year, Block 15 sours have nevertheless found their way onto numerous award lists. That’s not to diminish the awesomeness of their other beers—at any given time, a stop by their downtown brewpub offers you a selection of six staple brews and a rotating selection of seasonal and cask beers.

For their aptly named Millennium Falcon, Celestial IPA, owner/head brewer Nick Arzner and team utilize Millennium hops, for bittering, and Falconer’s Flight hops for the flavor and aroma. The combination, along with some help of Glen Eagle and European specialty malts, adds up to a rustic red brew bursting with citrusy aromas and bitter hop flavors. The malts add a nice balance to the mix, which lingers on the tongue for a medium finish.
