5 Tea Houses to Sip at Now

by | Jan 17, 2017

Tea is so hot right now. Venues offering the world’s second most consumed beverage (right behind water) are popping up all over the Northwest and, with chillier winter months, we couldn’t be happier. Providing tea connoisseurs with a place to come together with others, tea houses give a whole new feel to the “coffeehouse vibe” that we all know and love, with an herbal touch. Check out our feature story on the “New Brews” of tea in the PNW here.

Tea Bar | Portland
With three different locations in Portland and a mass following for their boba milk teas, Tea Bar focuses on simplicity in all aspects of its business and brand. The tea house provides costumers with a huge variety of teas sourced from family farms around the country. If you find yourself in the Rose City with a craving for tea, you will be greeted with a friendly face and a sleek, modern space to unwind and enjoy your choice of beverage, at either the Southeast, Northeast or Pearl District location.

Remedy Teas | Seattle
If you want the smell of fresh scones to surround you while you sip on an organic tea latte, Remedy Teas will provide you with both. Remedy Teas’ cafe provides costumers with the opportunity to pamper themselves with a more casual hi-tea experience with a tower of homemade treats both savory and sweet. Nearly 100 tea blends fill out the menu and are offered on a daily basis.

Townshend Tea | Locations in Oregon, Washington and Montana
Townshend’s goal was to bring people together to enjoy high quality loose leaf tea under the same roof and in a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere the same way people enjoy a cup of coffee. The popular tea line opened up opportunities for people to do just that with eight different locations all over the PNW. Experience the brand’s range of black, green, white, chai and herbal teas or sip on one of their many flavors of the popular on tap Dr. Brew Kombuchas.

Perennial Tea Room | Seattle
Located in downtown Seattle’s historic and famed Pike Place Market district, the Perennial Tea Room is a charming and quirky tea room that gives guests and shoppers the more traditional English tea house atmosphere. Since 1990, this tea room has provided guests with optimal people-watching through the windows while they sip on the wide variety of blends, or buy allows them the availability to buy in bulk and enjoy it at home.

Tea Republik | Seattle
Cozy is the first word that comes to mind when you enter the dimly lit cafe-like space. The thing people come here for? Variety. Located near the University of Washington in Seattle, students and tourists alike come to enjoy colorful pots of hot tea, or suck down boba from milk teas.
