Youngberg Hill 2013 Jordan Pinot Noir

by | Oct 7, 2015

Inspired by the beauty of nature, Youngberg Hill is devoted to practicing sustainability through holistic farming and natural winemaking on their McMinnville, Oregon vineyards, where they specialize in award-winning Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris varietals. Perched upon a 50 acre hilltop overlooking the acclaimed vineyards sits their Bed & Breakfast Inn, an Oregonian oasis where guests may retreat to for environmental awakening via romantic landscapes and rejuvenating suite accommodation—wine glass in hand.

Whether you are planning a vacation or a stay-cation, one particular wine to keep on hand during the upcoming holidays is Youngberg Hill’s 2013 Jordan Pinot Noir. From the namesake block that covers 3.5 acres of the estate on steep, southern-facing slopes, this Pinot Noir’s deep red hue is reminiscent of the grapes themselves, whisking you away to the wine’s Pacific Northwest roots. Unctuous and earthy dark berries with a baking spices fill the nose, while bright acid and a smoky finish plays upon the coastal-woodland dichotomy of the winery’s distinct location.
