Scott was selected from more than 50 applicants for her deep expertise in marketing strategy and storytelling, along with a proven record of guiding organizations through growth and transition. Heather Scott is a marketing and strategy leader with over 16 years of experience, driving growth for global brands and Fortune 500 companies. She has held senior executive roles including Chief Strategy Officer at Merkle and, most recently, Indigo Slate, where she led large-scale transformations, integrated multi-agency operations, and delivered marketing solutions for clients such as Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon, and Sky Sports. Scott also holds a Level One certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers, is enrolled in the Enology and Viticulture program at Walla Walla Community College, and is actively involved in vineyard and winery operations for her own micro-winery.
“With her deep experience in marketing, communications, and strategic leadership, combined with her passion for the Walla Walla Valley, Heather stood out as an exceptional leader who will serve both our membership and community well,” said Katie Davis, President of the Board of Directors.
Scott will report to the Board of Directors and lead an existing team of talented development and marketing professionals, advancing the Wine Alliance’s mission to raise awareness of the Walla Walla Valley wine brand regionally, nationally, and internationally.
“I’m honored to serve the Wine Alliance and help amplify Walla Walla’s reputation for world-class wines while supporting the community that makes it all possible,” said Scott. “I’m excited to bring fresh ideas and innovative approaches to ensure Walla Walla continues to lead with creativity and strengthen its reputation as a world-class wine region.”
Scott’s community involvement includes contributions to organizations such as the GESA Powerhouse Theatre, Visit Walla Walla, and Providence St. Mary Medical Center.
The search process was conducted in partnership with a third-party recruiter, a search committee of wine industry and community leaders, and the full Board of Directors.
Acknowledgment of Leadership Transition
The Wine Alliance extends its appreciation to Tracy Parmer, who served as Interim Executive Director throughout the search process. Parmer, who will continue in her role as Development Director, provided stability, leadership, and continuity during an important period of transition.
“Tracy’s leadership was instrumental and kept us moving forward during a critical time,” said Davis. “We are grateful for her dedication and look forward to her continued contributions as Development Director.”
